Joseph Wagner (New York politician)

Joseph Wagner was a New York state politician who served as a member of the New York State Assembly representing the 131st Assembly District (Wayne County) from 2007 to 2010. A Democrat, he was elected in 2006, defeating incumbent Republican David Koon.

Wagner served on several Assembly committees during his tenure, including Agriculture, Banks, and Transportation. He focused on issues relevant to his largely rural district, such as agriculture, infrastructure improvements, and local economic development.

In 2010, Wagner unsuccessfully ran for the New York State Senate in the 54th District. He was defeated by Republican Michael Nozzolio.
