Joseph Lynch (Irish politician)
Joseph Lynch (1901-1979) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cork Borough constituency from 1948 to 1969. He was also a Senator from 1969 to 1973.
Born in Cork, Lynch was a businessman before entering politics. He first contested a general election in 1943, but was unsuccessful. He was subsequently elected to Dáil Éireann in 1948 and remained a member for over two decades.
During his time in the Dáil, Lynch served on a number of committees. He was known for his work on issues relating to Cork city and county. He retired from national politics in 1973.
