John Williams (Continental Congress)
John Williams (1731 – 1799) was a delegate to the Continental Congress from North Carolina from 1778 to 1779. He was born in Hanover County, Virginia, and later moved to Granville County, North Carolina. Williams served as a colonel in the North Carolina militia during the American Revolutionary War. Before his service in the Continental Congress, he was a member of the North Carolina Provincial Congress. After his congressional service, he continued to be involved in North Carolina politics and served as a judge. He died in Granville County, North Carolina.
