John Walton (darts player)

John Walton (born 15 February 1961) is an English former professional darts player. Known by the nickname "John Boy," Walton achieved notable success in British Darts Organisation (BDO) competitions.

Walton won the BDO World Darts Championship in 2001, defeating Martin Adams in the final. He also reached the final of the Winmau World Masters in 2001, losing to Raymond van Barneveld. Other significant accomplishments include winning the British Open in 1999 and the Isle of Man Open in 2000.

While a consistent performer on the BDO circuit for many years, his career was somewhat curtailed by a back injury. Walton retired from professional darts in 2013. He remains involved in the sport through exhibitions and occasional commentary work. He is known for his steady playing style and calm demeanor on stage.
