John Newton (rugby league)

John Newton is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. He primarily played as a second-row forward.

Newton played for the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in the New South Wales Rugby Football League (NSWRFL) competition. He was a member of the Manly-Warringah team that won the 1978 NSWRFL Grand Final, defeating the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks after two drawn games. He played in all three matches of the Grand Final series.
