John McCrary (baseball)
John McCrary (born January 16, 1951) is a former professional baseball player. He was a right-handed pitcher who played briefly in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics in 1974.
McCrary was drafted by the Athletics in the 6th round of the 1969 MLB June Amateur Draft from El Camino College Compton Center. He spent several years in the Athletics' minor league system before making his major league debut.
He appeared in just two games for the Athletics during the 1974 season, pitching a total of 3.1 innings. He recorded one strikeout and allowed three earned runs, resulting in an ERA of 8.10. He did not record a decision (win or loss).
Following his brief stint in the majors, McCrary continued to play in the minor leagues. His professional baseball career ended after the 1976 season.
