John Lang (Australian rugby league)
John Lang is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer and coach. As a player, Lang primarily played hooker for the Eastern Suburbs Roosters, South Sydney Rabbitohs, and Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition. He represented New South Wales in the State of Origin series.
After retiring as a player, Lang became a highly successful coach. He coached the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Penrith Panthers, and South Sydney Rabbitohs. He led the Penrith Panthers to victory in the 2003 NRL Grand Final. Known for his calm demeanor and tactical acumen, Lang is regarded as one of the most respected coaches in Australian rugby league history.
