John Bland (judge)

John Bland is an American judge who currently serves as a Justice on the First Court of Appeals of Texas.

Bland received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University in 1983 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center in 1986.

Prior to his service on the First Court of Appeals, Bland practiced law in Houston, Texas for many years. He was elected to the First Court of Appeals in 2008 and has been re-elected since. His judicial service has primarily involved hearing and deciding cases in a wide variety of civil and criminal appeals.
