John Battle (basketball)
John Battle (born November 9, 1962) is an American former professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for nine seasons, from 1985 to 1995.
Battle, a 6'2" guard, was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the fifth round (104th overall) of the 1985 NBA draft after playing college basketball at Rutgers University. He played for the Hawks from 1985 to 1989, then for the Cleveland Cavaliers from 1989 to 1995.
Known for his perimeter shooting and scoring ability off the bench, Battle had his best statistical seasons with the Cavaliers. He was a consistent contributor, often providing a spark to the offense. His career averages include 9.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
