Jan Skopeček (politician)

Jan Skopeček (born August 8, 1975, Prague) is a Czech politician and economist. He has been a Member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic for the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) since 2017.

Skopeček studied at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University in Prague, graduating with a degree in economics. He later worked as an economist and consultant.

His political career began in local politics. He served as a councilor in the Prague 1 district. He has focused on economic policy within the ODS, often commenting on budget and fiscal matters.

In the Chamber of Deputies, Skopeček has been involved in committees related to budgetary affairs. He is known for his advocacy of lower taxes and a balanced budget. He has also been a vocal critic of government spending and excessive regulation.
