Jake Stahl

Jake Stahl (January 13, 1879 – September 18, 1922) was an American professional baseball player and manager. He played primarily as a first baseman and outfielder in Major League Baseball from 1903 to 1912.

Stahl began his major league career with the Boston Americans (later known as the Boston Red Sox) in 1903, where he quickly established himself as a solid hitter and fielder. He played for the Americans until 1907, then briefly played for the Washington Senators in 1907 before returning to Boston.

In 1908, Stahl was named the manager of the Boston Red Sox. He led the team to a World Series championship in 1912, defeating the New York Giants in eight games (one game ended in a tie). Following the 1912 season, Stahl retired from baseball due to health problems.

Despite a relatively short career, Stahl was regarded as a capable player and a successful manager. He was known for his hitting ability and his strategic mind on the field.
