Jack Hunter (film series)
The Jack Hunter film series is a trilogy of American made-for-television action-adventure films, starring Ivan Sergei as the titular character, Jack Hunter, an archaeologist and treasure hunter. The films were produced by the Sci-Fi Channel (now Syfy) and aired in 2009. The series draws inspiration from adventure serials like Indiana Jones.
The three films in the series are:
-
Jack Hunter and the Lost Treasure of Ugarit (2009): Jack is hired by the U.S. State Department to track down a hidden treasure of Ugarit, an ancient Syrian city.
-
Jack Hunter and the Quest for Akhenaten's Tomb (2009): Jack continues his search for artifacts related to Ugarit, eventually leading him to Egypt and the tomb of Akhenaten.
-
Jack Hunter and the Star of Heaven (2009): The final installment sees Jack racing against a shadowy organization to find the Star of Heaven, a legendary artifact said to hold immense power.
The films also star Joanne Kelly as Nadia Ramadan, Jack's sometimes-ally and romantic interest, and Thure Riefenstein as Albert Littmann, the primary antagonist. The series is characterized by its globetrotting adventures, historical mysteries, and treasure hunting tropes. While not critically acclaimed, the Jack Hunter film series gained a following for its lighthearted adventure and pulpy storytelling.
