Infinity (wargame)

Infinity is a tabletop wargame simulating futuristic skirmishes. Published by Corvus Belli, it is characterized by its highly detailed miniatures, a focus on tactical depth, and a dynamic, reactive gameplay system known as the "Automatic Reaction Order" (ARO).

Core Mechanics:

The game is played using 28mm scale metal miniatures on a tabletop representing a futuristic battlefield. Players typically control a small squad of soldiers and specialists, rather than large armies. Gameplay revolves around a system of Orders, which represent actions a player can take during their turn.

The Automatic Reaction Order (ARO) system is a defining feature. When a model performs an action within the line of fire or zone of control of an enemy model, the enemy model can interrupt with an ARO. This allows for simultaneous actions and reactions, making for dynamic and unpredictable combat. AROs can include actions such as shooting, dodging, moving into cover, or attempting to hack enemy equipment.

Dice rolls determine success or failure. Infinity uses 20-sided dice (d20s). Rolls are modified by various factors, such as skills, equipment, and the situation on the battlefield.

Setting:

Infinity is set in a science fiction universe approximately 175 years in the future. Humanity has expanded to multiple planets and star systems, connected by wormhole technology. Powerful megacorporations and nation-states vie for control and resources. The setting draws inspiration from cyberpunk, anime, and military science fiction. Key factions include PanOceania, Yu Jing, Haqqislam, Ariadna, Nomads, and ALEPH, each with distinct technological and cultural identities.

Factions:

The game features a diverse range of factions, each with unique units, equipment, and playstyles. Some of the major factions include:
