Ilagala

Ilagala refers to an ethnic group residing primarily in the Kilosa District of the Morogoro Region in Tanzania. The Ilagala people are closely related to the Gogo and Kaguru peoples, and their language, also known as Ilagala, is a Bantu language. Their traditional livelihoods are based on agriculture and livestock keeping. Information regarding the Ilagala language and culture is relatively scarce compared to better-documented Tanzanian ethnic groups. Research efforts are ongoing to preserve and document Ilagala traditions, history, and language.
