Ida Chong

Ida Chong is a Canadian politician who served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in British Columbia representing the riding of Richmond-Queensborough from 1996 to 2013. She was a member of the British Columbia Liberal Party.

During her time in the legislature, Chong held several cabinet positions, including Minister of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development, Minister of Science and Universities, Minister of Community Development, Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism and Immigration, and Minister of Small Business, Technology and Economic Development.

Prior to entering provincial politics, Chong served as a city councillor in Richmond, British Columbia. She is a Chartered Accountant.
