Hyndburn (UK Parliament constituency)

Hyndburn is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Sara Britcliffe, a Conservative. It is located in Lancashire, England.

Boundaries:

The constituency covers the majority of the Borough of Hyndburn, including the towns of Accrington, Church, Clayton-le-Moors, Great Harwood, Huncoat, Oswaldtwistle, and Rishton.

History:

The constituency was created in 1983 from parts of the former constituencies of Accrington and Clitheroe. It has been a bellwether seat, often changing hands between the Labour and Conservative parties, reflecting the national political trend. Prior to Britcliffe's election in 2019, it was held by Graham Jones of the Labour Party (2010-2019), and before that by Greg Pope, also of Labour.
