Hell in a Cell (2016)
Hell in a Cell (2016) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and WWE Network event produced by WWE for the SmackDown brand. It took place on October 30, 2016, at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The event featured matches contested inside the Hell in a Cell structure, a large, roofed steel cage that surrounds the ring and ringside area.
The show consisted of matches that were determined by scripted storylines, where wrestlers portrayed heroes, villains, or less distinguishable characters in events that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches.
The main event saw Kevin Owens defend the WWE Universal Championship against Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell. Other notable matches included Sasha Banks defending the WWE Raw Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair, also inside Hell in a Cell; and Roman Reigns defending the WWE United States Championship against Rusev, also inside Hell in a Cell.
