John Fleming (Scottish politician)

John Fleming was a Scottish politician who served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Motherwell and Wishaw constituency from 1999 to 2011. He was a member of the Scottish Labour Party.

Born in Glasgow, Fleming worked as a steelworker before entering politics. He was active in trade unionism prior to his election to the Scottish Parliament.

During his time as an MSP, Fleming served on several parliamentary committees, including the Justice Committee and the Transport Committee. He also held various shadow ministerial roles within the Scottish Labour Party.

Fleming retired from the Scottish Parliament at the 2011 Scottish Parliament election.
