Hal (Japanese band)

Hal was a Japanese pop and trance music group active from 1996 to 2003. The group consisted of three members:

  • HΛLNA (Halna): Vocals and Lyrics. Her real name is Halna Shimazaki.
  • Toshiharu Umezaki: Music Composition, Arrangement, and Synthesizer programming.
  • Atsushi Fujii: Music Composition, Arrangement, Guitar, and Synthesizer programming.

The band debuted with the single "DECIDE" in 1996. Hal's music style was characterized by a blend of J-Pop, trance, and electronic elements. They were known for their catchy melodies, complex arrangements, and Halna's distinctive vocals.

Hal gained significant popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s, contributing theme songs to several anime series, which broadened their audience. Some of their notable works include contributions to the anime series Boys Be..., Shinzo, and Tales of Eternia.

After several successful years and numerous releases, Hal disbanded in 2003. Following the disbandment, the members pursued individual projects. Halna continued her music career as a solo artist, while Umezaki and Fujii focused on music production and composition for various artists.

Hal's discography includes several studio albums, singles, and remix albums. Their music continues to be appreciated by fans of J-Pop and trance music.
