HMS Avenger (F185)

HMS Avenger (F185) was a Type 21 frigate of the Royal Navy. Part of the "Amazon" class, she was built by Yarrow Shipbuilders and launched on 20 November 1975. Avenger saw action in the Falklands War, during which she provided naval gunfire support and anti-aircraft defense. She was decommissioned in 1994 and sold to Pakistan in the same year, becoming Tippu Sultan (F184). Tippu Sultan was decommissioned by the Pakistan Navy in 2010 and subsequently scrapped.
