Greatest Hits (Bruce Springsteen album)
Greatest Hits is a compilation album by American rock musician Bruce Springsteen, released in 1995. It primarily featured Springsteen's most commercially successful and radio-friendly singles from the 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s.
The album aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of Springsteen's hit singles career for both long-time fans and newcomers to his music. While many of his classic albums like Born to Run and Born in the U.S.A. are considered essential, Greatest Hits offered a convenient package of his most well-known songs.
The album included tracks such as "Born to Run," "Thunder Road," "Dancing in the Dark," "Born in the U.S.A.," and "Streets of Philadelphia," among others. In addition to previously released material, the album featured four newly recorded songs: "Secret Garden," "Murder Incorporated," "Blood Brothers" (single version), and "This Hard Land" (with different musical arrangement).
Greatest Hits was a commercial success, reaching the top of the charts in several countries and becoming one of Springsteen's best-selling albums. It is generally considered a good starting point for exploring Springsteen's extensive discography. The song selection reflects a focus on his more pop-oriented material, potentially omitting deeper cuts or fan favorites that were not widely released as singles.
