Grassroots (album)

Grassroots is the third studio album by the American rock band 311. It was released on July 12, 1994, by Capricorn Records. The album represents a further development of 311's sound, blending elements of rock, funk, hip hop, and reggae. Grassroots features a more polished production compared to their previous independent releases and showcases the band's increasing songwriting complexity and musical experimentation.

The album spawned several singles, including "Homebrew" and "Omaha Stylee," both of which helped to further establish 311's fanbase. While not an immediate commercial breakthrough, Grassroots built upon the momentum of their debut album, Music, and helped pave the way for their later mainstream success. The album is noted for its positive energy and lyrical themes of unity and optimism. Grassroots also features the song "8:16 A.M.", which later appeared in a re-recorded version on their self-titled album, 311.
