Granard (Parliament of Ireland constituency)

Granard was a constituency represented in the Parliament of Ireland until the Act of Union 1800. It was a borough constituency, electing two Members of Parliament.

History

The borough was located in County Longford. Patents creating the borough were issued in 1613 and confirmed in 1685. The right of election was vested in the portreeve, burgesses, and freemen of the borough. Following the Act of Union 1800, Granard was disenfranchised.
