George Thomas (rugby union, born 1857)
George Thomas (born 1857, date of death unknown) was a Welsh international rugby union player. He played club rugby for Newport and represented Wales on one occasion.
Rugby Career
Thomas made his single appearance for Wales as part of the opening game of the 1884 Home Nations Championship against England. Wales lost the game, played at Leeds, by one goal to nil. Thomas played as a forward in a pack that included Charles Taylor, Bob Gould, and the brothers Alexander and William Taylor. The match was his only international appearance.
