George McGeachie (footballer, born 1939)
George McGeachie (born 25 May 1939) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as an inside forward.
McGeachie began his career with Petershill Juniors before joining Scottish League club Queen of the South in 1959. He made over 100 league appearances for the Dumfries club before moving to English side Carlisle United in 1963.
At Carlisle United, McGeachie was a key player and helped the club achieve promotion to the Second Division in 1964. He played for Carlisle United until 1967, making over 100 league appearances for them as well.
After leaving Carlisle, McGeachie returned to Scotland to play for Stranraer. He later played for Annan Athletic before retiring from professional football.
Following his playing career, McGeachie remained involved in football, working as a coach at youth level.
