Geoff Smith (runner)

Geoff Smith (born October 24, 1953) is a British long-distance runner, best known for his two victories in the Boston Marathon in 1984 and 1985.

Smith was a prominent marathon runner in the 1980s, achieving significant success in major international races. Before his Boston wins, he gained recognition for his strong performances in other marathons, consistently placing near the top. He represented Great Britain in the 1980 Moscow Olympics in the marathon, finishing 7th.

His victories in Boston cemented his place in marathon history. In 1984, he won in a time of 2:10:34. In 1985, he defended his title, winning in 2:14:05. These wins were characterized by his aggressive front-running style.
