Gabriel Arias (footballer)
Gabriel Arias (born September 18, 1987) is a Chilean-Argentine professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Racing Club in the Argentine Primera División and the Chile national team.
Born in Neuquén, Argentina, Arias began his professional career with Independiente in 2009. He then had stints with Olimpo, also in Argentina.
Arias became a naturalized Chilean citizen through his Chilean mother, enabling him to represent Chile internationally. He made his debut for the Chile national team in 2018 and has since been a regular member of the squad. He was part of the Chile squad that finished runners-up at the 2019 Copa América.
Known for his shot-stopping abilities and commanding presence in the penalty area, Arias has established himself as a prominent goalkeeper in South American football. He joined Racing Club in 2018 and has won several titles with the club, including the Argentine Primera División and the Trofeo de Campeones.
