Gümüşlük

Gümüşlük is a coastal village and neighborhood located in Bodrum, Muğla Province, Turkey. It is situated on the southwestern coast of Turkey, on the Aegean Sea.

Gümüşlük is known for its relaxed atmosphere, natural beauty, and historical significance. The village is built on the site of the ancient city of Myndos, a Carian city that dates back to the 4th century BC. Underwater remains of the ancient city are visible near the shore, and the Rabbit Island (Turkish: Tavşan Adası), which can be reached by wading through shallow water, features remnants of Myndos's walls.

The village boasts several waterfront restaurants specializing in fresh seafood. Tourism is a significant part of the local economy, attracting visitors seeking a more tranquil alternative to the busier areas of Bodrum. The beach, while not extensive, is popular for swimming and sunbathing. The area surrounding Gümüşlük is characterized by olive groves and mandarin orchards.

Gümüşlük has retained much of its original charm, despite increasing tourism. Strict building regulations have helped to preserve its traditional character. The village is served by local buses connecting it to Bodrum and other nearby towns.
