Gábor Horváth (canoeist, born 1971)
Gábor Horváth (born July 15, 1971) is a Hungarian sprint canoer who competed from the early 1990s to the early 2000s. He is best known for his success in the K-4 (kayak four) events.
Horváth won three medals at the Summer Olympics. This includes a silver medal in the K-4 1000 m at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, a silver medal in the K-4 1000 m at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, and a bronze medal in the K-4 1000 m at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.
In addition to his Olympic success, Horváth also won several medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships. These wins include a gold in K-4 500m (1998), a gold in K-4 1000m (1995), silver in K-4 500m (1995), and a bronze in K-4 500m (1994).
He predominantly competed in the K-4 1000 m event throughout his career, contributing significantly to Hungary's achievements in the sport of canoe sprint. He retired from competitive canoeing in the early 2000s.
