Fortress Hill (constituency)
Fortress Hill is a constituency in the Eastern District of Hong Kong. It is one of the 35 single-member constituencies in the Eastern District Council, and is currently represented by Frankie Lo Rong-man.
The constituency covers the area around Fortress Hill, including residential areas, commercial buildings, and some government facilities. The boundaries are roughly defined by King's Road to the south, Oil Street to the west, Java Road to the north, and Healthy Street Central to the east.
Historically, the constituency has seen competition between pro-establishment and pro-democracy parties. Voter demographics consist of a mix of middle-class residents, older residents, and a transient population. Election results are influenced by local issues, broader political trends in Hong Kong, and the candidates presented by the various political parties.
The constituency is named after the geographical feature of Fortress Hill, which in turn is named after the former artillery battery located there, built during British colonial rule.
