Fittouga

Fittouga is a village and rural commune in the Cercle of Diré in the Tombouctou Region of Mali. It is located approximately 80 kilometers east of Diré and is situated on the banks of the Niger River. The population is primarily involved in agriculture, particularly rice cultivation, and fishing. Seasonal flooding of the Niger River is a key factor in the agricultural cycle. The area is characterized by its arid climate and sparse vegetation. Fittouga, like many communities in the region, faces challenges related to water scarcity, desertification, and access to basic services such as healthcare and education.
