Fishlabs
Fishlabs was a German video game developer and publisher based in Hamburg, Germany. Founded in 2004 by Michael Schade and Christian Lohr, the company specialized in developing 3D mobile games, particularly within the space combat and racing genres.
Fishlabs gained significant recognition for its Galaxy on Fire series. This series of open-world space combat games was critically acclaimed and commercially successful on iOS and Android platforms, known for its high-quality graphics and engaging gameplay. The series includes Galaxy on Fire, Galaxy on Fire 2, and Galaxy on Fire 3 - Manticore.
Beyond Galaxy on Fire, Fishlabs also developed other mobile games such as Rally Master Pro, Deep Dive, and Snowboard Hero.
In 2013, Fishlabs was acquired by Koch Media (now Plaion). Following the acquisition, the studio's activities were eventually integrated into Deep Silver FISHLABS, a subsidiary of Koch Media. Despite the acquisition, the Galaxy on Fire series continued to receive support and updates for a period of time. As of late 2023, the original Fishlabs company no longer exists as an independent entity, and its legacy is maintained primarily through the enduring popularity of the Galaxy on Fire games.
