Jaćmierz
Jaćmierz is a town in Sanok County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in southeastern Poland. It is located approximately 16 kilometers (10 mi) west of Sanok and 58 kilometers (36 mi) south of Rzeszów, the regional capital.
Historically, Jaćmierz was a town of significant local importance, possessing town rights from 1386. These rights were lost in the late 19th century, and it was re-established as a town on January 1, 2024.
The town's history is intertwined with various noble families, including the Bal family. Jaćmierz also had a significant Jewish population prior to World War II.
Today, Jaćmierz functions as a local administrative and service center for the surrounding agricultural area. Its economy is largely based on agriculture and small-scale industry.
