Faye (crater)
Faye is a lunar impact crater located in the heavily cratered highlands of the Moon's southern hemisphere. It lies to the southwest of the prominent crater Deslandres, and to the northwest of Pitatus.
The rim of Faye is heavily worn and eroded, with several smaller craters lying along its edge and within its interior. The crater's outer walls have been significantly degraded by subsequent impacts, and in places, are little more than a low, irregular ridge. The interior floor is relatively flat, but marked by numerous small and tiny craters. A notable feature is Faye A, a smaller, bowl-shaped crater located along the southeastern inner wall.
Faye is named after French astronomer Hervé Faye.
