Ernest Wild (politician)

Ernest Wild (1869-1934) was a British barrister and Conservative Party politician. He served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Norwich from 1915 to 1923 and for West Ham Upton from 1924 to 1929.

Wild was educated at Charterhouse School and Jesus College, Oxford, where he studied law. He was called to the Bar at the Inner Temple in 1893 and became a King's Counsel (KC) in 1918. He practiced law extensively, particularly in criminal cases.

His political career began with his election to Parliament in a 1915 by-election in Norwich. He lost his seat in 1923 but returned to Parliament the following year representing West Ham Upton. He lost this seat in 1929 and did not return to national politics.

Beyond Parliament, Wild was also involved in local government and held various public positions. He was known for his strong advocacy and debating skills both in the courtroom and in the House of Commons.
