Eidai SC

Eidai SC was a Japanese football club based in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture. Founded in 1966 as the company team of Eidai Sangyo, a housing construction and real estate company, they were initially known as Eidai Sangyo Soccer Club.

The club enjoyed a relatively short but impactful period in the Japan Soccer League (JSL), the top flight of Japanese football at the time. They were promoted to the JSL Division 1 in 1972. In 1975, they achieved their greatest success, winning the JSL title under the management of legendary coach, Kim Yong-sik. They also reached the Emperor's Cup final in the same year, but were defeated.

Despite their success on the pitch, Eidai Sangyo faced financial difficulties, primarily due to the economic downturn following the oil crisis of the 1970s. As a result, Eidai Sangyo withdrew its support for the team. In 1976, the club was disbanded, marking a premature end to their promising trajectory. Many of the players dispersed to other JSL clubs.

Eidai SC's legacy remains as a reminder of the boom-and-bust cycles sometimes seen in company-sponsored football teams. Their brief period of success provides a unique chapter in the early history of Japanese professional football.
