ETV (Mongolia)
ETV, or Mongolian National Broadcaster (MNB) Television (Mongolian: Монголын Үндэсний Олон Нийтийн Телевиз, Mongolyn Ündesnii Olon Niitiin Televiz), is the first and oldest television channel in Mongolia. It is a public service broadcaster owned and operated by the Mongolian government. ETV provides news, cultural programming, documentaries, and entertainment to audiences throughout Mongolia.
ETV plays a significant role in shaping public opinion and disseminating information across the country, particularly in rural areas where access to other forms of media may be limited. The channel broadcasts in the Mongolian language, with some programming also available in other languages.
Throughout its history, ETV has evolved from a state-controlled propaganda outlet to a more independent and objective news source. While still subject to government oversight, it aims to provide balanced reporting and diverse perspectives.
ETV operates several channels including ETV1 and ETV2, each offering a different range of programming to cater to various demographics and interests. It also has an online presence through its website and social media platforms.
