ESPN Zone
ESPN Zone was a chain of sports-themed restaurants and entertainment centers operated by Disney Regional Entertainment, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. The first ESPN Zone opened in Baltimore's Inner Harbor in 1998, followed by locations in major cities across the United States, including Anaheim, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
The concept combined a full-service restaurant with a sports bar atmosphere, interactive games, and a retail store selling ESPN-branded merchandise. Each location was typically divided into distinct zones, such as the Studio Grill, the Screening Room (featuring large-screen televisions and stadium-style seating), the Sports Arena (housing interactive sports-themed games), and the Bristol Bar.
The food menu generally offered a range of American cuisine, including burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and entrees. The beverage menu included a wide selection of beers, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Over time, changing consumer preferences and economic factors led to the closure of several ESPN Zone locations. By 2010, only the Anaheim and Downtown Disney District locations remained. The final ESPN Zone, located in Anaheim, California, closed in June 2018.
