EE (telecommunications)
EE, formerly known as Everything Everywhere, is a British mobile network operator and internet service provider. It is a subsidiary of BT Group. EE was formed in 2010 as a joint venture between Deutsche Telekom and France Télécom (now Orange S.A.) through the merger of their respective UK mobile network operators, T-Mobile UK and Orange UK.
EE launched the UK's first 4G mobile network in October 2012, initially covering 11 cities. The company continues to expand its 4G and 5G network coverage across the UK. EE offers a range of services including mobile phone contracts, SIM-only deals, mobile broadband, and home broadband.
In January 2016, BT Group acquired EE for £12.5 billion. While operating as a subsidiary, EE maintains its brand identity and retail presence. EE competes with other major mobile network operators in the UK, such as Vodafone, O2, and Three. The company is headquartered in London.
