Lotus 15

The Lotus 15 was a sports racing car designed and built by Colin Chapman's Lotus Cars in 1958. It was intended as a replacement for the earlier Lotus Eleven, offering improved handling and a more robust design.

The car featured a space frame chassis, clad in aluminum bodywork. It was initially designed for a Coventry Climax engine, typically the FPF four-cylinder, but could accommodate other engines as well. The Lotus 15 utilized independent suspension and disc brakes, reflecting Lotus's commitment to advanced engineering.

The Lotus 15 saw considerable success in sports car racing throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s. Drivers such as Graham Hill and Innes Ireland piloted the Lotus 15 to numerous victories and podium finishes in various international events. Its lightweight construction and responsive handling made it a formidable competitor against larger and more powerful cars. While not as historically significant as some of Lotus's later Formula One designs, the Lotus 15 contributed to the marque's growing reputation for innovation and performance in motorsport.
