Dutoitea

Dutoitea is a genus of extinct dicynodont therapsids from the Late Permian period. These herbivorous animals are known from fossil remains discovered in South Africa. Dutoitea is classified within the family Cistecephalidae, characterized by their flattened skulls and stocky bodies.

Fossils attributed to Dutoitea provide valuable insights into the paleoecology of the Karoo Basin during the Late Permian. Their remains contribute to understanding the diversity and evolution of dicynodonts, a dominant group of herbivores in the pre-dinosaur era.
