Sharhorod

Sharhorod is a city located in the Vinnytsia Oblast of Ukraine. Situated in the historical region of Podolia, it serves as the administrative center of the Sharhorod Raion.

The town's history dates back to the late 16th century when it was founded by Jan Zamoyski, a Polish nobleman. It was initially established as a fortress and trading center. The name "Sharhorod" is believed to be derived from Zamoyski's coat of arms, which featured a stag.
