List of Padma Shri award recipients (1954–1959)
The Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan. It is awarded by the Government of India annually. Recipients are selected based on their distinguished contributions to various fields including, but not limited to, arts, education, industry, literature, science, sports, medicine, social service and public affairs. The award is conferred by the President of India at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan usually around March/April each year.
This list contains individuals who were awarded the Padma Shri between the years 1954 and 1959. It is organized chronologically by year. The lists include the recipient's name, the field in which they were recognized, and the state/country to which they belonged. Note that the field and state/country indicated represent the individual's primary area of work or origin, and may not encompass their entire career or life.
