Doxa (magazine)
Doxa is a Russian independent student magazine and media organization. It was founded in 2017 and primarily focuses on issues related to education, social justice, and human rights within Russia.
Doxa distinguishes itself through its critical coverage of Russian universities, educational reforms, and the political climate affecting students and academics. It provides a platform for student voices and aims to promote intellectual discussion and civic engagement.
The magazine has faced significant pressure from Russian authorities due to its independent reporting and criticism of government policies. In April 2021, several Doxa editors were arrested and charged with inciting minors to participate in illegal protests, following their video supporting students facing expulsion for participating in pro-Navalny rallies. This case drew international condemnation and highlighted the challenges faced by independent media in Russia. Despite the challenges, Doxa continues to operate, albeit with increased security measures and vigilance.
