Diego García de Paredes (conquistador)

Diego García de Paredes (1506 – 1563) was a Spanish conquistador and soldier, known for his exceptional strength and swordsmanship. Born in Trujillo, Extremadura, Spain, he played a significant role in the early Spanish colonization of South America, particularly in Venezuela and Colombia.

García de Paredes distinguished himself through his military prowess and bravery. He served under various leaders, including the Governor of Santa Marta, Pedro Fernández de Lugo, and participated in numerous expeditions, contributing to the subjugation of indigenous populations and the establishment of Spanish settlements.
