Deep Lake (California)

Deep Lake is a small, remote lake located in the Klamath National Forest in Siskiyou County, California. It is situated at a high elevation, approximately 6,500 feet (1,980 meters), within the Marble Mountain Wilderness.

The lake is known for its exceptionally clear and deep water, which contributes to its name. Its depth, while not precisely measured in all sources, is significantly greater than many other lakes in the surrounding area. Deep Lake is primarily fed by snowmelt and springs.

Deep Lake is accessible only by hiking trails, making it a popular destination for backpackers and wilderness enthusiasts seeking solitude and unspoiled natural beauty. The surrounding landscape consists of rugged mountains, dense forests of fir and pine, and alpine meadows.

The Marble Mountain Wilderness, in which Deep Lake is located, is managed by the United States Forest Service.
