David Henderson (basketball)
David Henderson (born February 11, 1964) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'5" guard, he played collegiately at Duke University and professionally in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Henderson was a key member of the Duke Blue Devils teams of the early to mid-1980s, playing under coach Mike Krzyzewski. During his time at Duke, he was known for his scoring ability and perimeter defense. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the third round (64th overall) of the 1986 NBA draft.
Henderson played four seasons in the NBA, appearing with the Philadelphia 76ers (1986-1987), San Antonio Spurs (1987-1988), and Houston Rockets (1988-1990). After his NBA career, Henderson played overseas in various leagues. He is generally remembered as a solid role player at the professional level, with a successful college career that preceded it.
