David Greenaway (economist)
David Greenaway is a British economist specializing in international trade, trade policy, and trade and development. He is an Emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of Nottingham.
Greenaway held several prominent roles throughout his career, including Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham (2003-2008) and Vice-Chancellor (2008-2017). He was also Director of the Leverhulme Centre for Research on Globalisation and Economic Policy (GEP) at the University of Nottingham.
His research has focused on the impacts of trade liberalization, the determinants of trade flows, and the relationship between trade and development. He has published extensively in leading academic journals and has advised numerous international organizations and governments on trade policy.
Greenaway has also served on several government committees and advisory panels, including the Senior Salaries Review Body. He was knighted in 2014 for services to higher education. His work has contributed significantly to the understanding of international trade and its impact on economic development.
