James Allan (Australian footballer)

James Allan (born 29 December 1985) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Allan was recruited from Central District in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). He made his AFL debut in 2007. A tall defender, Allan was known for his marking ability and intercept play. He played primarily as a key defender, often tasked with marking some of the opposition's most dangerous forwards.

Throughout his career, Allan was a reliable and consistent player for Port Adelaide. He played a total of 103 AFL games before being delisted at the end of the 2013 season.

Following his AFL career, Allan returned to Central District, where he continued to play in the SANFL. He remained a valuable contributor to the Central District side.
