David Blake (general)

David Blake (born c. 1760, died c. 1835) was an American planter, politician, and general in the South Carolina militia. He served in the South Carolina House of Representatives and Senate for several terms, representing the interests of the lowcountry planter elite.

Blake was a prominent slaveholder and rice planter, owning significant land and enslaved people in the South Carolina lowcountry. His wealth and social standing contributed to his political influence. He was a strong advocate for the preservation of slavery and states' rights.
